I don't know what it's called, to be honest... but yes, it results in various shades... intentionally or not I don't know. So yes, I've seen a pale 'orange'... pure 'white' (that's rare), and everything in-between.

When I was a kid it was basically 3 styles, and no hair coloring... Flat Top, Crew Cut, and Butch. By high school I was using basically the same hairdo I have now... although today with VERY little hair it doesn't look anything the same at all.
