I use a password manager these days...

which solves many of those problems and also makes it easier to change passwords.... BUT... it also brings up all new and frustrating problems.

My browser, Safari, also has a built in password manager that is constantly butting heads with my main password manager. I tried to use Safari's manager for sites in which I didn't give a flip if my password was compromised and 1Password for important stuff.... but over the years they somehow melded somewhat so now I often find that on sites I don't frequent often I have two, or even three, saved passwords only one of which is right.
