I know with tomorrow's big game in all our minds I thought some baseball fans might be interested in some professional baseball history just before the arrival of the Dodgers. At one time there was a great league called the Pacific Coast League (PCL) and had gifted players such as Joe DiMaggio, Sparky Anderson, and many others. Talent wise it was above the minor league level and just below the major leagues-which did not have any pro teams on the west coast. Indeed many players competent enough to play in the majors refused and continued to play in the PCL where they could make more money. Here is a brief history of the original Los Angeles Angels PCL team owned by the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field, a small version of the Cub stadium in Chicago in south central L.A. I spend many of day and night riding my bike to see an Angel game there.
