I have seen that cat a few times on my walks. He'd keep his distance but I'd still say hello. Our City can be slow with picking up dead animals...if at all. I simply could not walk by there and watch that cat rot to nothing. I come across as a cynical / grumpy SOB too often but I have always had a soft spot for animals.
