I discovered that my granddaughter's taste in music is nearly as diverse as mine.... and since then, every few days, I've been doing music searches from some of the songs from yesteryear to send her... she's loved nearly all of them so far. And I don't mean 'yesteryear' as in "my era".
I started band in the 4th grade... because of that I learned to love nearly all genre's and era's of music... so I've been suggesting to my granddaughter songs from the early 1900's, even some classics from 3, 4, 5 hundred years ago.... also all the decades since Elvis changed it all.
It's been a lot of fun. Just last night I presented Scott Joplin's ragtime songs to her.... for her it was like an entirely new music discovery.
Another great benefit... she likes the music LOUD, like me... so I now have someone on my side when my wife, my daughter and everyone else threatens to kill me if I don't turn it down.
