Last year, I think I spent several days after Christmas examining each string of lights on the Christmas tree, replacing burnt out bulbs and making sure the string was in good shape for THIS Christmas. I have a 7 1/2 foot tree. The rule of thumb is 100 lights for every foot but that's not enough lights for me. I probably have 1200 or so chasing lights on my tree so it's tricky and time consuming to put them on. I used to have a pre-lit Christmas tree from Balsam Hill that cost me a pretty penny but when a couple of strings went out, there was no way to replace the bulbs or fix it. I was so disgusted I threw the tree out and bought another tree from a different company. Anyhow, I must have tossed some strings last year that weren't working because this year, I'd strung lights on 2/3 of the tree and ran out. I made a mad dash for Walmart (which used to be a 24-hour store and I found out it now closes daily at 11 pm). They don't sell incandescent Christmas lights at all anymore (and that's what I have). Everything is LED so even though that's different from what's on my tree, I had no other choice. but to get 2 boxes of LED lights. I am not thrilled with how the lights look but there's not much I can do about it this year. I can order the brand of lights I normally use on Amazon and will do that so I have enough for next year but this year, my hodge podge of lights will have to do.
