I think MLB is testing robot umps in the minors

September 06, 2021 07:19PM
And you're right, balls and strikes have gotten so much worse the past few years.

But what happens with the home plate umpire if a robot takes over? Does he move to a new position somewhere else?

I guess he could still stay behind home for safe/out calls at the plate.

I'm all for it, though. I've seen too many games this year where a missed strike or ball creates a domino effect and impacts the outcome of the game.

The answer is simple. Go back to the REAL strike zone.

Regardless, my point is to simply have a SET strike zone.

  Umpire's union partly to blame.
