And you're right, balls and strikes have gotten so much worse the past few years.

But what happens with the home plate umpire if a robot takes over? Does he move to a new position somewhere else?

I guess he could still stay behind home for safe/out calls at the plate.

I'm all for it, though. I've seen too many games this year where a missed strike or ball creates a domino effect and impacts the outcome of the game.
