I had planned on going to Martha's Vineyard a few years ago after meeting Jim Beller, who was responsible for most, if not all the behind the scenes photos in the book Jaws: Memories of Martha's Vineyard.. I talked with him quite a bit and he offered to show me all the areas where all the scenes were shot.. We had decided on August, because that's when the water there is warmest - or so he said.. we just never did make the final details..
I'd still like to go, but in seeing the pics from there posted every day by the members of that facebook group, I'd kind of feel like a goober in just being another Jaws tourist.. I say that because every stinking day somebody new posts a stupid question like: "has anyone else ever noticed the shooting stars when they're out on the water?" or classics like, "What do you think Hooper was thinking when he saw Ben Gardner's head?" or some other goofy "what was he thinking" question.. I really should quit that group because, to me, it cheapens the movie.. people literally post crap every day like "I'd bet I've seen Jaws ten times!"
Seriously TEN whole times?
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
