I've always loved Flying V's.. The Jacksons I play are a take off of the original V with a shorter bottom leg.. I have owned one Gibson flying V and still own a Gibson Explorer.. Other than body shape they are pretty much identical guitars.. V's are a bit harder to play, due to body design.. the lower leg always gets in my way, which is one reason I like the Jackson Randy Rhoads models - shorter bottom leg..
V's are really difficult to play while sitting down.. you hafta straddle the v on your right leg.. I'm sure I would be more of a Gibson V guy had the Jackson RR models never been designed..
