I know they had some MTV stuff in the '80's, but that was a bada$$ live show. The NY Dolls only had 2 albums, but they were a precursor to the Ramones and the punk genre IMO. 1st album IMO has some good stuff. Mothers Finest fits that under rated tag...they toured all the time back in the 70's.....worked really hard, but I don't see much following a rare hard rock Black band.

1 of my favorite guitar cats was Tommy Bolin, played with james Gang, Deep Purple , went solo and died.....Not sure he could be under the radar, but I never hear him mentioned much. Be Bop Deluxe had some good stuff and a great guitar as well Bill Nelson.

I might be going into bands that were not so much underrated, but just not heard of too much....there's a difference.
