I've only received two summons in my life. One of them I got out of by saying I had systemic lupus erythamatousus and wasn't supposed to be under any undue stress. They excused me. I figured I was pressing my luck if I tried to use that excuse a 2nd time so I didn't try. After showing up at the courthouse and going through the selection process, I was chosen to serve on the jury for the other one. It was a double homicide involving a drug dealer who killed a couple of brothers who were stealing product.. Serving on that jury was one of the most interesting experiences of my life.
