I know there are nearly 330 million people in the USA, but not all of them are eligible to get the vaccine so I'm not sure why that's relevant.

The article doesn't say how many have of those 145 million have gotten their second shot, or speculate on how many will, or even say how many need to (since some of those 145 million got the J&J vaccine).

This article says around 109M people are fully vaccinated. [www.beckershospitalreview.com] Doing the math, around 36M have had one dose of Pfizer or Modena. Hopefully most of them will get the second shot, but even if they don't it's not the end of the world. edit: Around 9 million people have gotten the J&J vaccine. [covid.cdc.gov] That means around 136M have gotten either Pfizer of Modena. 8% so far have skipped their second shot of Pfizer or Modena. [www.nytimes.com] So, of those 145M that have gotten at least one shot it seems that around 134M are or will be fully vaccinated and the other 11M will only get the first Pfizer or Modena vaccine.
