Even with vaccines, cats can get them. About 15 years ago, I had a Maine Coon that was an indoor cat and out of left field, would not eat, had trouble walking and became REALLY angry / tempermental. He'd be fine for a day or two and would crash again. He was about 11 at the time. The Vet said that with several tests and scans ($$$$) we MIGHT be able to pinpoint it. But the ability to treat, if at all would be a huge question. I thought about it for a day. After watching ol "Tex" in so much pain, I made "The choice". The next afternoon, I sat in the Vet parking lot for 45 minutes before I could bring myself to grab the cat carrier and go inside. That was HARD!
