My Wife and I were REALLY hurting after losing Bella and Colonel so close together. As I buried Colonel, I thought "I'm DONE!" I did not want another cat. A few days later, my Wife and I thought... MAYBE by March we will consider. We were still hurting. A day or two later, we "glanced" at the Clay County Shelter. It took 5 seconds to see a small face that caught my eye. We started looking at other sites but I was hooked on this one all black, sad faced kitten. My Wife would see one she liked 2 days later. She too looked elsewhere but HAD to have the gray girl she liked. Well, a week later on 17 Nov and then 19 Nov, we brought home "Max" and then "Lily". Like SST said they would be.....They were instant pain relief. Max and Lily were not of the same litter but I have never seen two cats closer than they are. They have made us sooooo happy and have settled in GREAT. Oh, we STILL have thoughts of Bella and Colonel that makes someone cut onions. I still glance at their markers through the gate, EVERY morning I leave for work. But I think their calling was made for Max and Lily to be rescued.
