And I can totally see why you'd like the chute part and floating down.

Gives you a chance to take things in for a little bit. Can't speak to the physical sensation, but it makes sense.

One thing that does freak me out a little?

The ocean, especially being out on open water.

I worked for the National Park Service at Padre Island for a season.

I went out on a couple of beach dates with one of the other biotechs. She was from South Carolina, so she was pretty comfortable swimming in the ocean. I could not get her to understand why I would not go beyond knee deep into the water (and that's pushing it for me), despite my very logical and obvious arguments (at least to me). Have you seen the sharks they pull out of this place?! You're swimming in murky water, going on sundown, and near a drop off? You're fricking nuts!! And for me, more-so than sharks, it's the stingrays. I threw back countless stingrays for fishermen and women because they were either scared or didn't know what to do. A lot of respect for those animals. I don't want a stinger in the calf.

If I were to go deep sea fishing, it would be different because I would have something to keep me distracted.

I would be lying if I told you I wouldn't be nervous leading up to it though.
