that old wooden roller coaster was frightening. I went to LBSC for my Bachelors and a couple of surfing buddies and myself rented a beach cottage in Surfside. A few times we would go to the Pike after a party and ride that thing over the ocean. I believe that is where I learned what real fright is. What I recall most were the girls we would take there loved the Cyclone and I would be embarrassed cause I would cry like a baby. That old wood thing was big time dangerous. The girls were too stupid to realize that any moment they could go flying off into the middle of the Pacific. The thing was built in 1902 !

The Pike is now gone but replaced by something sensible-an aquarium.
