Talked about this before....

but what the heck?

When I was stationed in Germany the Armed Forces Radio Network broadcast old radio shows in the afternoon. My wife and I had no TV at the time, and even if we had we didn't speak German. At first we paid no attention to those radio shows but 6 months into our stay in Germany we eventually gave in and began to listen.

The Shadow.... yup. Lets see, I also remember Our Miss Brooks, Gunsmoke, Figger McGee and Molly, Inner Sanctum, The Whisperer, The Lone Ranger - - -

My wife and I got hooked. I'd sit with a German Beer and some pumpernickel bread, my wife with some tea, and we'd listen - sometimes for hours. We loved those shows. I liked the 'mystery shows' the best... my wife preferred the comedy shows.. but we listened to them all together.
