Butch, he was 2 or 3 years older than I was. He played minor leagues for the Dodgers for a few years, I forget how many. I think he was our 'local' biggest baseball star.
In Kerman we had Carlos Salazar.... who was brought up to the majors but didn't stick very long. Today he's playing at Lion's park in Kerman, Ca., football 7 on 7 with my three grandsons. Now in all fairness Carlos never played football, he DID throw a 100mph + fastball, BUT... my 4th oldest grandson, a HS Soph, beat him in their 'local 7 on 7 tournament at Lion's Park two nights ago. Carlos is playing QB for his team.
