You're like me..

I don't carry credit card debt at all - pay it off every month. I haven't gotten a loan since high school, paid cash for all my cars.. but, I've never once checked my credit score - because, technically, I don't need to..

I've heard checking your scores can cause it to go down.. I've read not getting and paying off loans can cause it to go down, and the shakiest of the "cause credit scores to go down list" I've heard paying your credit card off monthly can actually cause your score to go down..

I dunno if any of them are true, but I've read them all.. Don't know if you remember a few years ago the three main credit bureaus were hacked and half the country was at risk.. I was one of the people at risk, so I put a freeze on all three credit bureaus.. Nobody can check my credit score, or get loans in my name, or even check credit ability for anything.. including me, until I unfreeze them..

Its kept me from starting to day trade again (dunno why Etrade needs to check my credit when they will only allow me to do is fund my account by wiring money into it) and get solar panels on credit because I don't wanna unfreeze my accounts.. which has probably caused my credit score to go down.. but, like I said, I've never once checked it..
