And about getting 'techie'.... take that with a grain of salt... my knowledge of physics is poor, perhaps a little less than poor.
One of the arguments against arguments based on our current knowledge of physics goes something like this: "Yes, but that's us. The Aliens could be very advanced in technology compared to us"
Good argument, BUT... it leaves something out... for interstellar space travel to be possible with 'tech' we're not talking about a 'little' advance over us... or even a 'big' advance... we're talking one HUGE leap ahead of us.... like 10,000 times more than our stone age compared to today. (can you tell I'm just making up numbers for comparison?)
Using our current estimation of the age of the universe I don't see any possibility that ANY civilization has had NEARLY enough time to move from the beginnings of life to the level of intellectual requirement to achieve interstellar travel IN WHICH the actual aliens are on board.
Perhaps a probe might be reasonable? Yeah, I think so... but IF so it would still have to have come from a planet that is quite near by... well within our corner of the galaxy... and forget another galaxy.
Moving on.... and to preface this: I DO believe in intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. Why haven't we found evidence of them? Radio waves.... perhaps even a beacon created in space that works similar to a spinning neutron star? The reason I hear from scientists is simple... the universe is simply too vast and we aren't looking in the right place.
Never the less... I'm stubborn, and to me it seems like we should have found something by now. Thoughts? - JamesJM
