I have two memories that I know took place when I was either 3 or 4. One of them... the 'something in the sky' one... was a plane, (sorry for the tease, but I'll get to UFO's in a second). I remember watching it from the end of our driveway while sitting on my tricycle. It was polished aluminum so it was extremely bright. That sight began my interest in aviation, an interest that has lasted to this day, never having waned in the least.
My wife swears she saw a UFO, an "Alien" one. I saw it as well.... but there's a bad problem with my witness account... I was blind drunk. This was pre-1977. I'm going to tell you what I saw even though I was very, very drunk... only because it's exactly what my wife, (who was sober), would tell you if she was writing this post -
It was low, very low... perhaps 200' or so. It was flat on the bottom, not like a rounded fuselage. The most amazing thing was the detail of the 'bottom'.. the only way I can describe it, but it's nearly exact (what me in my obliterated state remembers but backed up by my stone sober wife), was to think of the underside of all those cruisers in the Star War's movies. And no, We had not seen Star Wars at that time, it wasn't out yet. It was moving slow, or seemed slow... and there was no sound at all. There were no lights... no navigation lights. It moved from the south to the north and directly over us, "Directly Over Us".
So ok.. why don't I think I saw an alien UFO? Well, there's the drunk thing, obviously - but also...
We live where Lemoore Naval Air Station does a lot of testing and practice, (Lemoore is maybe 25 miles SE of us as the crow flies). For example... we saw a B2 Spirit flying overhead before the government even announced they were being built.
Discounting my wife's testimony... she's impressionable. She won't read this so I'll survive posting this.
Lastly there is this... very good evidence that what I saw was not an alien UFO but I don't blame anyone for being doubtful - - - "I'm not that lucky".
