Yeah, but they let him go..

After 3 years because they were afraid he'd infect the camp with shingles.. I always asked my mom why they (Russians) didn't just take him out back and put a bullet in him and she replied back then officers were treated with more respect - even enemy officers.. So, they let him come home.. Had that not happened, good chance he wouldn't have survived..
