many years ago I somehow fell out of the habit of listening to music during the night. There was a time when I could not get to sleep unless the radio was on.... and then, somehow, that habit just faded away.
On to today:
Just a few weeks ago I decided to reacquire the habit. I already had a bluetooth speaker so I connected, found a good radio station on Apple Music, and clicked play. At first, it didn't work very well... but I persisted. The last few days, more than a week, I am getting used to it again...and it's working.
Gotta be 'soft' music but I switch genre nearly every night... classical, soft pop, ambient, for whatever reason it helps keep my mind from racing.
