although I do spend WAY too much time on my computers, desktop and laptop. But my phone? No.... in fact I seldom have it on me... almost never at home and maybe 50% of the times when I'm out of the house.
As far as the 'phone' part of a smartphone, (voice)... I can easily live without it. I doubt if I talk on my phone more than maybe 2 times per week.
However, I need a 'smartphone'.... it's not because I spend my life on it, or even use it all that much... it's just that EVERYthing for me business related, or shopping related, is now on my phone. It's my calendar, reminder, contact crutch... especially 'reminders', and reminders about every little thing, even mundane things, because these days I can't remember @$#@.
I never use social media on my phone, (and very little on my computer), nor do I text on it unless it's a HAVE to case. If you text me and I answer with text I guarantee you I am on my desktop and NOT my phone, or at least 99% of the time that's the case. I can't type on the damn things, well that is. If I tried to write this reply to you from my phone it would take an entire afternoon.
I used to play two games on my phone... sudoku and cribbage... but today I doubt if I play a game a month.
So if you asked me if I'm addicted to my smartphone I would answer "yes". But at the same time... living without it would not be a struggle for me. - JamesJM
