Essentially no wheel wells. Just a small plateau, or elevation - I'd estimate that it is a couple of inches high, but it's flat on top.
It is a small bed for sure, quite short. I have cross country skis that are 192 cm long. Before I bought the truck I used pythagorean theorem to make sure that the skis would fit in the bed diagonally. The in-bed trunk is a very nice feature on the Ridgeline though. It does create some more space, depending on what you are carrying back there. There are also eight hooks in the bed that make it easy to tie things down if you're carrying anything. Like I said, except for once every couple of years the small bed is not an issue for me, but I could see it being a deal breaker for some people. Lots of dirt bikes and snow machines where I live. None of those guys are putting their toys in the back of a Ridgeline. They're all driving Rams, F-150s or Silverados. That is too much truck for my needs.
