The other night we watched Little Women on Amazon Prime. I thought it deserved every award it received during the last Oscars. Emma Watson is fast becoming my favorite actress. I thought she was great in Lady Bird and now she might even be better in Little Women. Of course sometimes it helps to also read the book which in this case was written in 1868. It is a period piece and some don't care for those. I will also add that this is a football message board where most participants are males. Little Women , as the title may imply, is likely to be enjoyed more by the other gender especially because its about strong girls breaking away from stereotypical paths-something during that period was uncommon. In any event I thought it was a great movie that both my wife and I enjoyed it a lot. Most of the Oscar movies are now on Netflex and Amazon including others I thought were awfully good: Black Klansman, Ford v Ferrari, A Star is Born, Bohemian Rhapsody, etc.
Maybe what your referring to are "original" movies that go directly to Netflex, etc.
