I'll guarantee you Jimmy spent a lot of time on one of those one row pickers.
I spent one harvest season on one. Eating dust, bugs and then freezing your @$$ off late in the season. Before I was old enough to drive a picker, I was one of the guys in the trailer walking down the cotton after it was unloaded. When I was young, it was considered fun. When I got older, it was hard work.
The one row picker evolved into a two row, then a four row and then a six or eight row.
