I live North of Sacramento, but chose to drive an hour north up to Chico to try to avoid lines and only 9 cases up there rather than drive into Sac or Roseville
My wife came with me and we both had masks (n95) I did some metal grinding and sanding over the summer so I had 2 left - we both wore gloves too.
I told my wife Costco would be insane and it was.....line wrapped around the building - no joke. The new think is they are limiting people into stores. We skipped it as it would have taken forever just to get in.
Next stop Trader Joes (my wife is vegan and I have gluten allergies so we need a specialized grocery that has options). Line wrapped around the building, but TJs is small so only waited about 20 minutes. They prewiped carts which was cool, but I was geared up! Masked up (Im pretty special, so of course my mask was on upside down). At least my wife laughed. It is nice that they limit people in the store. About 3/4 of the people had masks and gloves on which I highly recommend (and thank you all for the push last night). Least crowded I have ever seen a Trader Joes in mty 25 years of shopping there.
Of course I ran to the alcohol first (I think that says a lot) and then of course to the coffee - meanwhile my wife is actually buying things we can eat. We bought a lot of food because we don't plan on going out for a while.
Check out had big red tape lines keeping people 6 feet apart and 6 feet from cashier. Lotta food available but a bought up all the Charles Shaw Red wine and still no TP, but I had bought some from Costco a few weeks ago. People in Chico were very nice as always.....very surreal though.
