That's the real question here???
I get it, let's shut it down , but it seems as long as there is still cases than how long will something like this last???
Gov California just said they're recommending canceling any gatherings of over 250 people??? Wow!
That's because the governor of the state of Washington did exactly that yesterday. He issued a proclamation that there would be. no events of more than 250 people in Washington. For how long? Who knows. The XFL Seattle Dragons are playing the LA Wildcats at CenturyLink stadium in Seattle on Sunday at 6pm CT... but it will be in an empty stadium since fans are prohibited from attending. The game is still being broadcast on ESPN2. That will be a first for me to watch a televised football game with no one in the stands. Weird.
St Louis has had the best fan support in the XFL, with Seattle right behind them. XFL teams have been averaging about 15K-7K tickets per home game. But in St Louis, it's been about 28K. The next Stl Battlehawks home game is against the LA Wildcats on 3/21 and so far, they've sold about 35,000 tickets in the Dome which is an XFL record. I bought tickets for my family to go to that game a couple of weeks ago but it's looking more and more like it's not even gonna happen. The good news is, if cancelled, Ticketmaster is supposed to issue refunds.
Some of us who are XFL fans are very concerned as to how stopping football operations will affect the fledgling league's future. They are just getting things off the ground and so far things have been going pretty well but having to shut down all things XFL now will be disastrous and they may not be able to recover. The XFL has not issued a statement yet that all operations will cease but I don't know how they can NOT since all the other sports have done so. I expect it to come at any time.
