Speaking of Racoon Skin Caps..... I had a Davy Crockett t-shirt like the one shown below. I remember as though it was yesterday when at the end of the school day I got my elbow stuck between the slats of a school desk chair back. It turned out to be a big deal with teachers and a peanut gallery of kids watching to see what the outcome was going to be. One of the teachers came up with the idea of someone fetching the Janitor Mr. Adams because he must have a saw to be able to cut me loose. That was all I needed to hear and although painful, I yanked my arm free and ran home. Don't know why but if I think of that predicament I remember the Davy Crockett shirt I had on.
