and probably because I never had kids, the "magic" of Christmas faded away years ago.. I don't generally get into the Christmas spirit until the 23rd or so.. by then, you sneeze and its all over with..
I do enjoy buying cool gifts and all that and I refuse to buy typical junk that serves as a placeholder, but it IS a lot of work and expense to do it the way I want.. and it just seems more and more that no matter what I give - and believe me, if you're on my list you're gonna get COOL stuff - the less and less people seem to appreciate it.. and then there's always the expectation of, "what's he gonna give me this year that blows away LAST year?"..
That puts a lot of stress on me to continue to try to outdo what I've done in the past so that nobody is let down.. Maybe i just need to buy myself cool crap.. I've been doing that a lot lately and I REALLY appreciate what I buy myself lol
