I think they use Versed a lot for colonoscopies because they are more uncomfortable than painful.. and, yes, you are conscious, but have no memory of the procedure..

I've never had a colonoscopy, but have have neck facet injections under Versed.. the doctor doing the injections was an old tennis buddy that I sued to OWN on the courts.. They let me wife (who is an RN) sit through the procedure.. I told her, knowing they were using Versed, that if I started talking about beating the crap out of the doctor in tennis, to make me shut up..

She said I brought it up while under Versed, but the doc and I both just laughed.. I have no memory of that..

Regarding Jaws, i saw it the first time alone, so not as fond of memories as you had.. lucky dog..
