St Louis Cardinals clinch playoff berth

for the first time since 2015!! We just swept the Chicago Cubs in a 4-game series at Wrigley Field. We haven't done that since 1921!! I dislike Cubs and Bears fans SO MUCH, so this win was particularly sweet!

Frank and I watch every blessed St Louis Cardinals game on tv ... yup... all 162 games. The Cards looked like crap from May through July and we were losing hope. We were in 3rd place for most of the season and the post-season looked like a pipe dream. But then in mid-August the Cardinals started playing the way we thought they'd play all season long. We've won 54% of our series so far and that's good enough to make the playoffs. We're in 1st place in the NL Central right now but Milwaukee is in 2nd place and breathing down our necks at only 3 games back. There are only 6 games left to play in the season. The Cardinals' final 2 series are against the Diamondbacks and the Cubs, both formidable opponents. The Brewers' final 2 series are against Cincinnati and Colorado, both bottom-feeders and should be easy wins for them. If the Cardinals aren't careful, Milwaukee could sneak by them and end up 1st in the division.

It's been an unexpected and thrilling turnaround. Can't wait to see how it all pans out.
