Couldn't remember we we actually broke 100 Degrees all Summer

,I know we had a couple weeks there that was pretty rough , and our heat index shot way above 100 , but I couldn't remeber if the actual temp it's self topped 100 , or just topped off in the high 90's

so , I went to Google , checking out Sioux Falls , and found this interesting , the number of times Sioux Falls has topped 100 , per decade

makes you think about all the global warming stuff , now granted , this is just one little spot on the globe

but the 1930's and 1940's were waaaay warmer then they are now

one thing I did find interesting , the 1970's was one of the higher ones as well , but the 1970's was also one of the worst decades for our Winters , we had some of the coldest Winters on record that decade as well

as a kid growing up in the 1970's , I don't really remember the Summers much , but I do remember those Winters..............lol

100 degrees or higher occurred most often during the decade from 1930-1939.
The breakdown by decades follows:

1893 - 1899 19 days (partial decade)
1900 - 1909 9 days
1910 - 1919 12 days
1920 - 1929 8 days
1930 - 1939 58 days
1940 - 1949 22 days
1950 - 1959 13 days
1960 - 1969 10 days
1970 - 1979 31 days
1980 - 1989 23 days
1990 - 1999 6 days
2000 - 2009 3 days
2010 - 2016 9 days (partial decade)

...Record Data...

The highest temperature on record for Sioux Falls is 110 degrees,
reached on July 17 1936 and June 21 1988.
