Apparently I can... because I'm about to do so.
My grandson just came in, to do my yard work. He had borrowed my Jaguar this past Friday to go 'on a date'. So he comes into my office and I ask, "Hey Mason, who was your date with?".
What I didn't know.. was who was also in the room at the time. His old girl friend, who may be who he is (was) trying to get with again. Pretty sure she didn't know about this 'date'. oops.
I swear, I didn't know she was in the room.
So how does one deal with a faux pas as grand as this? I dunno, if I did I'd do it... but I don't... so instead... I put on some Frank Sinatra music and I'm pretending like it never happened.
It's working. - JamesJM
Driving up from Texas with my newlywed, heading for home in Portland Maine. We hit some rough weather just south of Boston. That would put us about 3 hours from Portland. At that point, she doesn;t like the weather--it reminds her too much of some bad southern coastal weather she has been through. Dark, windy, rainy. She kept saying, should we worry about a tornado? And I keep saying, when I first moved to the states when I was a kid, it was the midwest. Tornado country. So I am familiar with worrying about that. But this is northern new england--they just don't have tornadoes here.
Then, not soon after all that speechifying, the state police closed the freeway. Everyone was directed to the emergency AM station. We tuned it in and the message was, everyone should get off the freeway and wait at the nearest rest stop. The reason? Tornadoes.
