it's something I've never fully understood..... eh, who am I kidding? Never understood AT ALL.
21Dog and I were talking about this not too long ago. I can be up in the high Sierra's where it's well under 32°, (I'll be annoying for a while since I learned how to type a temperature symbol), and it will not bother me much at all. At the same time... a 50° wet and foggy day here in Ca., (common during late football games and early baseball games), and I am incapacitated.
I am, by nature, a hot weather person.... and most would say, "sure, you grew up in hot weather"... but I dunno, ZN. My son also grew up here and has NEVER been able to handle hot weather... he lives in England now and even THAT is too tropical for him. Same for my wife.... and she grew up here as well.
I know people can acclimate BUT... I also think we're just made differently... some people are cold weather people by nature... people like me are not.
I can nearly always get cool, or at least comfortable, in hot weather. If I get chilled to the bone it takes me a week of sitting IN a fire to thaw out. - JamesJM
