I have experienced "Autumn"..ummmmmmm, I think 4 times. You see, we don't have 'autumn' here.... not really anyway. It's 100 every day until winter... when overnight it suddenly turns into the the 60s... winter.
That's a bit of an exaggeration... but probably not as much as you're thinking.
I have some renegade trees, (not sure what they are, but you can't kill them)... that do not obey the weather..... they put on leaves on the exact same day every year... no matter when it warms... and they drop their leaves on the exact same day every year no matter when it turns cool. More accurate than a NASA clock. - JamesJM
