Stereos these days are all "components" now, aren't they? Those black boxes that sit separately on shelves? I still have a small boom box that I keep in my bathroom. I've had it for about 25 yrs and it works great. RAMbeau and I use it every day while showering, cleaning the bathroom, or whenever we need to spend any length of time in there. We listen to the local ESPN radio station mostly but I also listen to some old smooth jazz cassette tapes. Yep, I still have a few. 
I got rid of my component stereo about 15 yrs ago because it was just taking up space and we didn't really use it that much. Before that, I had a console stereo similar to the one in the photo you posted but goodness... I probably got rid of that thing about 30 yrs ago.
Whenever I do listen to music, it's stuff I have in my music library on my computer, or music on my iPod which I have connected in my car.
