Although its no longer in the same configuration.. Used to be a stack of components - amp, receiver, tuner, EQ, cassette, CD, and even turntable.. Now its just a surround sound amp with a Blu Ray player and the beefiest set of speakers I could legally throw together.. I actually like the sound of the old system (which I still have) better, but ya gotta roll with the punches and I HAD to have surround sound for movies..
My heart will always be with a mega stereo setup.. I think if you grew up with it and experienced it, and fell in love with it, it'll always be with you.. But, yeah, big stereo setups are probably a dying breed, as its just too easy to have a current wireless digital setup that doesn't take up much space and gives you every song known to man at your fingertips... Kinda sad..
