Tribute bands in Texas..

80's tribute bands are super big in Texas right now.. Tribute bands for Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake, Ozzy, AC/DC, Poison, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, Metallica, Kiss, Ramones, Joan Jett and a ton of other bands play in town regularly - pretty much every week.. They make super big bucks, even if they don't draw big crowds..

The part that annoys me is that most of these bands are based out of Dallas and draw from a pool of musicians to play.. Meaning, a lot of the same guys are in multiple tribute bands, just wearing different wigs.. Individual players might get a call Friday to go to Denton to do Ozzy, or Saturday night to do Metallica, and off they go, filling in for whoever can't make it.. Pretty good money to be in those bands..
