Beartown by Fredrick Backman
A fictionalized small town deep in the forest of Sweden that is losing it's identity, it's economy and it's very existence. It's entire life depends on a junior (14 yrs of age) ice hockey team that is so good it will compete for the nation's championship. The opening line catches you and won't let you go.
""Late one evening toward the end of March, a teenager picked up a double-barreled shotgun, walked into the forest, put the gun to someone else's forehead, and pulled the trigger. This is the story of how we got there".
Backman also wrote "A Man Called Ove" and several other best sellers.
