About 3 years ago I was diagnosed with severe arthritis in my right hip. It is at a point I struggle to get a sock on that foot or tie my shoe....but I still can. I have a constant limp and I aggravate the hip often, especially walking. I don't use those motor carts even when my wife teases me about using them. I don't have a handicap placard and don't use those parking spaces.
When I see the people you are talking about I think it is a damn shame. I even tell the store workers who go get the scooters from the parking lot and ride them back to the store lobby, I remind them they may be useing one of those later in life. THey just laugh about that.
