Thanks to technology, I now pause a show if I have to . . . say. . . fix a cup of coffee. . . perform a necessary biological function. . .And then return to use the fast forward button. Still, it seem an eternity. And when you think there can't possibly be another commercial. Another pops up. While I still can't beat the two- minute rule, I do avoid the nausea if viewed in real time.

The same goes with DVRed shows.
