I hear stories like Rambeau's.....I think what I paid for a kidney stone 10 years ago..... If you guys want comic relief, look at a itemized hospital bill. I was given essentially a snow cone cup with a screen at the bottom to catch my kidney stone. It cost $19.97 I'll never forget that number. Thought it was interesting it wasn't an even $20.
As a Firefighter with Jacksonville for 22 years, I cannot count the amount of people who call 911 for ABSOLUTE BULL$***! Many of them are HIGH volume repeat callers. For CYA / Attorney avoidance, we transport and Hospitals treat. The bills are obviously not paid. I ask myself.....Who DOES foot the bill?? The common answer is....."By those of us who DO pay bills or OUR insurance". Or is the cost REALLY so low, it's just eaten??
SOME day, I just wanna know.....If you take away the Hospital's profit...........The Doctor's profit......... The Pharmaceutical profit.......The Insurance company's profit.......ALL of these make $$$$$$$$$$......Just what does it REALLY cost to put a cast on a fractured arm???? I bet we'd PUKE if we found out
