IMHO there is no better sport for grade school through high school students. There is something for everyone. There are individual competitions, there are team competitions. It has everything. Speed, strength, agility... there is an event for everyone.

As I mentioned - last year our local high school, (well my grandkids' local high school, not mine) brought back T&F for the first time in decades. Reason they had given it up was that their track was in yards, not meters. (very poor excuse IMHO). The reception... from students AND fans, was incredible. It was electric at those meets.

Of course, adding to the excitement was that they had lost all the old school records so nearly everyone set a school record. laughing smiley My grandson set 4 of them.. or was it 5? ALL of them will be broken within a year... two years at the most, as proper coaching and training takes hold. This year not a single coach had a clue how to train the kids for the events. I actually helped a little.. baton passes in the relays, high jump form, etc.

Anyway... I'm very excited about T&F coming back. - JamesJM
