I feel your pain. My signed football saga: At a PR 'something' in Fresno I won an official autographed football signed by the entire 1977 team. Some guy ran up to the stage and claimed it and they gave him the ball... when I arrived at the stage they apologized but the football was gone.
I proved I had won it... I had the winning ticket, and they promised to send me one in the mail. Took my name, address, and I never expected anything to come of it... BUT... they came through. I received it in the mail some weeks later and, of course, it was put on display in my home.
As you know... my home burned down in 1991..total loss, the football was gone. All my Ram's gear was gone except for one Ram's sweater and a couple of T-Shirts that happened to be at my Mom and Dad's house across the street when the fire took my home.
I have never since truly restocked... I have a few Jersey's, of course, T-Shirts, etc... but nothing 'signed' except a Capelletti photo given to me by a friend. My heart just hasn't been in it.
