I was never an avid baseball fan. I was a fan.
I think I was born cantankerous. When all my friends at school went gaga over the Yankees in the 1960's World Series I chose the Pirates. During that World Series Roberto became one of my first sports 'heroes'. Loved the guy from then on.
Came across this story today and it's a good read. I had not heard of this before.. I'm sure most of you have, you baseball fans anyway.
