Kind of related....

actors today, in an attempt to be 'realistic', mumble and whisper a LOT.

I posted some time back about having a hearing test... my test came back normal, which shocked the living hell out of me because I can't understand voices at ALL... but the doctor who examined me explained: I do having hearing loss with two frequencies, (very common), that are used a lot is 'speech'. So I heard the voice but can't make out the words. The doctor went on to say that there has been a 'culture' change. People today speak differently.. they mumble, they do not speak clearly. The tend to slur their words together.

I had thought that was true, mentioned it to the doctor, (I was thinking my grandkids whom I have a VERY difficult time understanding), and the doctor told me that it wasn't my imagination... people do speak that way today.
