But first... I don't think I've ever ONCE seen Richard Chamberlain act. Seriously. I've seen his face on magazine covers, heard him mentioned... but I cannot recall ever seeing him on any kind of 'screen'. That's NOT a diss of Richard, lest you think it is.... I don't know the man, at all.
Ok... what you reminded me of: "The Name Of The Rose"... a movie starring Sean Connery. An INCREDIBLE film... BUT... I'm very biased - here's why: Umberto Eco, who wrote the novel, is just possibly my favorite all time author. Truth is: in the movie I don't really care for Sean's acting, (it's ok, nothing special), or that of Christian Slater... the two lead roles. But some of the minor roles are done so well as to be award winning. It's the story... and how it's told. VERY depressing... which I'm not usually very fond of... but so well done. AND - so well filmed.
I don't think it's your kind of movie, Iowa... but hey, I could be wrong. - JamesJM
